1 Step Closer to Ruling the World

By now everybody already knows of Disney's $4 billion dollar buy-out of Marvel. This event, to many comic enthusiast, is probably one of the most traumatizing things since they realize that the booth babes in comic book conventions are only there because they are getting paid. (And if you didn't know that... whoops)

People are now expecting Hannah Montana advertisements plastered on every page of the latest issue of Hellboy, or "It's a small world after all, starring The Hulk," or maybe even a mix of Kingdom Hearts and Marvel Ultimate Alliance... actually that last one is something I would like to see.

My point in all of this rambling is that to most people, this is the worst thing that could happen to their spandex wearing super powered over-lords of justice, but I write in a slight DEFENSE (yes defense) of Disney.

Think about it, what is and has Disney been known for all it's time of existence? MOVIES. Not many people realize this, but movies starring Marvel super heroes are some of THE MOST expensive movies to produce. The Iron Man movie alone cost $160,000,000 to produce. (You are never going to see that many zeroes in your wallet, unless there is a decimal point before them all.) Along with that, their next movie coming out, Thor, has been rumored to be $300,000,000. (That's THREE HUNDRED MILLION!) With numbers that high, the $4 billion seems like a good step in helping Marvel.

So Re-cap:
Disney is best known for making movies AND Disney has the money to pay for all the expensive movies Marvel is making. See what I'm saying? Besides, I think The Hulk holding hands with several small dolls of ethnic minorities would be a sight to behold.

Videos: RoosterTeeth Contest Submission

If you have no idea what the title means, you either:
A. Live Under A Rock
or
B. Don't Watch Machinima

Rooster Teeth is one of the most famous machinima makers ever. They have hilarious parodies of popular games, and are mostly well known for their Red vs. Blue series and Achievement Hunter series.

Anyways, now that that small tid-bit is out of the way, they are holding a contest!
http://redvsblue.com/viewEntry.php?id=1486 (link to details)

Basically, you have to parody a line in their parody, no more than 10 seconds long. I have already entered this contest and I'm more than willing to show you my contest entry.

Here is the episode I'm parodying:

PS3 Slim

Sonic here, and today I'm going to talk about the PS3 slim. For those of you who don't know already, the price of PS3 has been cut to $299 and has even received the "slim treatment" that the PS2 and PSP had. The new slim PS3 isn't as shiny as its fat predecessor, but is shorter and about 33% lighter. Good news for Sony is that they can cut manufacturing costs, good news for us is that we can get the PS3 at a cheaper price. Oh yeah I must say, the new PS3 looks pretty damn cool as well.

It's been a rough three years for Sony, but I think things are finally starting to look up for them. The PS3 has always been more expensive than the Xbox 360 and Wii, but at $299, it is comparable to the Xbox 360 Elite(which has also recently dropped to $299) and only $50 more expensive than the Wii. People will probably start to consider the PS3 more seriously when deciding which system to get because of its proximity in pricing.

In a recent gamefaqs poll, most people planned to buy(or receive as a gift) a PS3 out of any system. The poll can be seen here

http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3590

What do you guys think? Will the PS3 rival the successes of the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii now that it's only $299?

AWESOME EDIT BY CHOZO YAAAAAAY

I honestly think that Sony is going straight up hill from here. You have to consider how they started back in E3 2006... Yeah Five-Hundred and Ninety-Nine USD. Now they dropped to HALF the price.

Another thing to consider is the Blu-Ray player it has, considering that it's one of the best out there, it's highly recommended that you get a ps3 if you don't already have one. The price for a flat-out Blu-Ray player is about 200+ USD. If you think about it, one hundred dollars more for a new game console is completely worth it.

Along side the values, the library the PS3 contains is rapidly gaining popularity: Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid 4, Fat Princess, Valkyria Chronicles... This is compared to the original set of titles that sparked the low opinion masses we know of.

If I had any money, I would most definitely go and get a PS3 slim myself. The price drop is the best thing Sony has done ever since the PS2.

Can't turn back now.

Chozo here, can't say I'm going to look back at this point in life and agree with it, but I currently have nothing better to do. I'm going to be Co-Pilot with Sonic for this jet of random gaming blogging. I'm just going to turn on the seat belt sign and hope for the best. On a brighter note, expect entertaining video game related topics, videos, and blog entries from us.
